Welcome To Space Guys! ​Background Since Summer 2022, I've had the idea to make some sort of sci-fi animated TV series, I was 14 and knew that I couldn't do it- I sucked at animating (I suck less-so now, but still need to work on it) and couldn't voice act. From then on, I wrote and planned out my show concept called “Space Guys”. The name is pretty bland, I was like “I'll find a better name!” But it's been so long, Imma stick with it. I have gone so far as to draw character designs, write a whole Google Doc about the shows information, character biographies, episode ideas, the whole nine-yards. Here I am, 3-ish years later, and I still want to do the idea, but can't make it reality. (No, I don't want to make a crappy YouTube series) I made this Substack website back in April, and I only realized recently that: I can WRITE “Space Guys” in short segments. So I'll do that. Inspiration I was inspired by The Orville, a show I have been watching for years. And you might've noticed that The Orville season 3 released around the time I came up with my idea- That is no coincidence. With that in mind, I don't want/plan on copying The Orville outright, the only similarities I can draw between my concept and the show are that: It's in space (no way! 🤯), there is a primary ship, there is an Earth-based counsel for interstellar affairs, there is a Navy-based ranking system (I will base mine off of Canada's Navy. The Orville (I am 99% sure) is based on the United States’ Navy, and there is a comedy focus. That's all I can think of lol. What To Expect? I will write Space Guys “every once in a while”, just when I feel like it. This will just be a writing side-project for now, and who knows, maybe if Vlogmations goes somewhere, I can pitch Space Guys as an actual show. ;) Speaking of Vlogmations, nothing will change. I don't want my channel to be a whole mix of random content, I like my educational stuff and will stick with that for a while to come. I know my sub count is 530+, so I don't expect this to be read, but screw it. Someone will hopefully read this… YOU'RE READING THIS! So if you want, stay tuned.
